Frequently Asked Questions

Should I book?

If you are visiting during the week there is no need to book unless you are a large group. We would strongly advise booking a table if you are visiting during peak times such as school holidays or the weekend. Bookings can be made for general pottery painting on our website hours. Please note that clay / out print castings and silver fingerprint jewellery impression taking are by appointment only so please call for availability.

When will it be ready?

Your pottery will be ready for collection seven days after painting. At the end of your session, you will be issued a collection receipt that you will need to bring with you. We will NOT call you to let it know that it is ready. Please collect your items within 6 weeks of painting. If not collected, due to lack of space in the studio we will have to dispose of them.

How much does it cost?

The cost will depend on the pottery item you choose. We have over 250 different items that change with the seasons ie. Easter themed pots, Christmas decorations. The prices start from £12 upwards which includes glazing and firing. We do not have a studio fee. We do not have a price list due to our continuous changing of stock but to give you an idea, mugs and plates start from £15 upwards.

Is it safe for my Baby/Child?

All the paints and glazes we use in the studio are non toxic. They are water based so fully washable if they make contact with skin and clothes. Our paints are perfectly safe for use with baby hand / footprints.

I have a question when will it be answered?

Please note that enquires can only be answered during opening hours. During busy periods we may not get the opportunity to check emails so please call… we will always hear the phone ringing!

Is it dishwasher safe?

All of our items are microwave and dishwasher safe but we do recommend for longevity of your item that this is avoided and items are hand washed. Pottery is not oven safe. We advise the use of LED tea lights in the pottery and not a naked flame.

Do you sell food and drinks?

Yes! however, we do not allow food or drinks purchased elsewhere into the studio. Greasy fingerprints onto pottery will stain or leave unsightly marks. We serve a full list of drinks including Lavazza Italian fresh bean coffees, Teapigs teas, Cadburys hot chocolate, healthy smoothies and indulgent milkshakes all made to order. We also have a lovely selection of light snacks if needed.

How long can we stay?

We give each booking a studio time of one and a half hours for their table during busy times. At quieter times you are welcome to stay longer if the table is not booked out. If you are unable to finish your piece during your visit, you will have to take the item(s) home with you and return another day to finish! Please note: there is a returning fee of £5.

Can I leave my child?

If your child is aged 8 years or over and booked into one of our school holiday workshops, you can leave them for the session. All other painting sessions will require an adult to supervise all children less than 12 years old.

Where can I park?

There is a pay and display car park behind Sainsbury's which can be accessed via West Wickham High Street. Please note, you will need to use the RINGO app to pay.

Are you baby friendly?

Yes we are! We have baby changing facilities and high chairs available.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, you dont need to bring anything with you, we supply all the tools you'll need including aprons, all you need to bring is your creativity.

Can I bring my dog?

Offical Service dogs are of course welcome in our shop, but we have limited space especially when the shop is full so we cannot accomadate dogs or other pets.

What if I have more/less peopel than when I initially booked?

If the amount of people you initailly booked for has changed please contact us to let us know and we'll see what we can do to accomodate. We are a small shop with limited space so adding extra people to your table may not always be possible. Most of our tables seat up to 4 people and others seat up to 6. Please check availability of space when booking.

Quiet/Busy times

If you are looking for a quiet time to sit down and paint pottery we recomend booking during the week at either out 10am or 12pm slots. We are very busy over the weekends and during school holidays so if you are looking to paint at that time we suggest booking early.
